Biography
Dr. Tsai received her Ph.D. at National Yang-Ming University in 1995. Subsequently, she completed a four-year postdoctoral training at the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston USA. Dr. Tsai’s research interest is to apply mouse genetics approach to elucidate the function of novel genes, and to apply this to the development of new prevention and therapeutic agents for human disorders. Over the past few years, Dr. Tsai has made significant contributions to the discovery of a novel gene CISD2 which mediates mammalian lifespan and mitochondrial integrity. Currently, Dr. Tsai’s lab is screening and developing the anti-aging drugs using CISD2 as a molecular target in order to benefit the age-associated disorders and promote a healthy lifespan.
